THE SHEPHERD'S PSALM

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:  he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul:  he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:  for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:  thou anointest my head with oil;  my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
(Psalm 23)

I ask that you re-read the Shepherd's Psalm above and meditate on the promises and thanksgiving contained therein.  Find one thing a day for the whole month to be thankful for, then give God the thanks He deserves!

Our country is in a mess!  Not many good-paying jobs...Not many benefits...Country is going broke...Citizens are going even broker (if I may use that term)...We've been infiltrated by terrorists who would like nothing better than to wipe us off the face of the whole earth...etc, etc

As we remember our problems, Let us also pause to reflect on our many blessing, instead of our woes.

We live in the best country in all of the known world!  We have freedoms and fabulous lifestyles unknown in most of the rest of the world. 

Materially:   We have mouth-watering food selections we can afford, the rest of the planet cannot even imagine.  We have warm, comfortable homes to rest in (with hot and cold running water) and cars that we can drive anywhere we want to go, instead of having to walk.   The poorest of us have far more than the wealthiest in many other countries.

Spiritually:   There are Christians praying, all over this country for our safety, and the safety of our friends and allies.  These Christians are praying for God to continue to be merciful to our country, in spite of its lack of Godly leadership, secular humanistic views and many idols in our lives.  So far, God is answering their prayers.
